Modern Slavery reporting + supply-chain software in Australia

From 2024-2025 the Modern Slavery Act regime tightened — the federal Anti-Slavery Commissioner is operational, NSW has its own commissioner, the Statutory Review under McMillan led to reforms in scope. Reporting entities (≥$100M consolidated revenue) must publish a statement against 7 mandatory criteria within 6 months of FY end. That work — supplier mapping, risk scoring, audit cycles, statement assembly — is what these platforms do.

What to look for

  • Supplier mapping + tiered risk scoring (Tier 1 direct + Tier 2-N upstream)
  • AU sector-specific risk libraries (construction, agriculture, electronics, garments, mining)
  • Self-assessment questionnaires + evidence collection workflows
  • Audit + remediation workflows
  • Statement assembly + s 16 criteria mapping
  • Integration with procurement / ERP (SAP, Oracle, Coupa)
  • Whistleblower / grievance hotline integration

FAQ

Do I need a platform if I'm a borderline reporter?

If you're borderline ≥$100M, a basic spreadsheet + questionnaire process is enough for the first year. Move to platform once supplier count > 200 or board scrutiny rises.

Will the Anti-Slavery Commissioner audit my statement?

The Commissioner has investigation powers + can publicly comment on statements. Civil penalties for failure to publish were proposed in the 2024 reforms — implementation pending.
